Polyglot Group proudly represented at the HR Summit 2025, held on the 1st and 2nd of April at the ICC Sydney. Our vibrant booth was a hub of activity, where we connected with industry leaders, learned from other organisations, and shared our expertise.

At the HR Summit, we emphasised the importance of focusing on the human aspect of businesses, as this approach helps create a thriving workplace where both employees and businesses can succeed.

To keep things light-hearted, we also hosted a fun game at our booth called “Game of Throws”, which was a hit among the attendees. It was a great way to engage with visitors and add a bit of fun to the serious business of HR.

Amidst the buzz and excitement, one thing was clear: even the best Human Resources teams can benefit from specialised expertise or a fresh perspective to unlock their full potential. During this 2-day event, our Polyglotters took the opportunity to upskill themselves by attending workshops and listening to keynote speakers from leading industry experts.

Here are some key takeaways that stood out:

Alignment with Organisational Values and Strategy

Aligning HR initiatives with your organisation’s core values, vision, and strategy is not just essential – it’s transformative. This alignment serves as the foundation for the success of any HR initiative, ensuring that every action taken resonates with the organisation’s mission.

Moreover, securing buy-in from key stakeholders and the CEO is crucial. Their support is vital for seamless implementation and maximising the impact of new strategies, driving meaningful change across the organisation.

The Human Touch in HR

Despite the surge in software solutions and automation, the need for human input in HR remains paramount. The irreplaceable human touch is crucial in fostering genuine connections and understanding within the workplace. Measuring the outcomes of HR initiatives is vital to demonstrate business impact, with data-driven decisions showcasing the true value of HR efforts.

Businesses need to prepare themselves to face cross-generational management challenges, especially with Gen Z, making up 27% of the global workforce in 2025, values being heard and appreciated by a human.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Adoption and Data Quality

The adoption of AI in HR presents significant opportunities, but the quality of data remains a critical barrier. Ensuring high-quality data is essential for effective AI implementation, enabling HR professionals to maximise AI’s potential. This highlights the dual roles of HR professionals as both advisors and drivers of change within their organisations, emphasising the importance of accurate and reliable data in making informed decisions.

Wellbeing Initiatives

Wellbeing initiatives are pivotal in creating a positive and productive work environment. Simple actions like encouraging employees to move, breathe, drink water, and show gratitude can have a profound impact on their mindset and overall wellbeing.

Helping employees upskill and reskill is a core responsibility of HR, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth. These initiatives are not just beneficial but essential for maintaining a healthy and motivated workforce.

Emerging Trends in HR

The HR landscape is evolving, with emerging trends such as the right to disconnect, addressing psychosocial hazards, leveraging AI, fostering a culture of continuous growth, promoting positive duty, and offering flexibility. Additionally, soft skills, or human skills, are increasingly in demand and are now considered the new hard skills. These trends highlight the dynamic nature of HR and the need for organisations to continuously adapt and innovate.

We are excited to bring these learnings and insights back to Polyglot Group as we continue to innovate and enhance our HR practices. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who visited our booth and engaged with us at the HR Summit 2025. We look forward to future events and continuing to drive positive change in the HR landscape.
