Polyglot Group has come a long way in 20 years, experiencing exponential growth over its lifetime as well as expanding for new horizons overseas.

Over the years and as we continue to grow as an entity, we have always believed in helping others in their ventures and supporting projects we believe in.

One in particular is the “Breakfast for A Future” endeavour which conducts fundraising for the School of St Yared in Ethiopia.

The School of St Yared is a program of Hope for Children, a registered Australian charity that has collaborated with communities in Addis Ababa and Eastern Ethiopia for the past decade. The organisation was created to design and deliver integrated education, health and livelihood programs for children and young adults.

Named after its founder, Yared Wolde, the school’s aim is to continue fighting poverty through education. After losing his family at a very young age, Yared had to work to support himself in order to fund his education. Once graduated, Yared worked as an interpreter for Hope for Children in order to facilitate dialogue between the organisation and the communities on the ground. Though this was of great help, Yared knew he wanted to do more and give back what he had received and thus The School of St Yared was born in 2009.

Interestingly enough, Polyglot found out about this cause through one of our staff members, Eric Ortolan. One of Eric’s son’s school friends attended The School of St Yared after being found abandoned in the desert in Ethiopia. The boy in question was looked after by the school until he was adopted by his Australian family.

This is not the first time we have worked and/or supported African projects. Polyglot Group has had a long withstanding relationship with Africa, especially through Eric who has an extensive history of working on International Projects there. Being a big supporter of the right to education as well as equality, Polyglot Group jumped on the chance to give a helping hand to such an important cause.
