Polyglot Group’s Estelle Mathieu, Senior Consultant, and Jacques Reynaud, General Manager, recently attended a forum organised by the German Australian Chamber.

This event welcoming a trade delegation of German companies specialising in innovative green technology.

With a powerful network of medium-size companies, Germany is at the forefront of innovative exports with over 12,000 patents secured last year. Several organisations came along to look for partners and make contacts.
As their cross-cultural partner, Polyglot Group was pleased to listen to  interesting presentations and to learn about the future of the green industry in Australia.

A few highlights include:

  • The waste management market is expected to grow from $7b to $11.5b by 2020. This represents 43m tonnes of waste expected to grow to 81m tonnes – an average growth rate of 4.5%!
  • The concentration within the industry is becoming more important and the National Sales and Marketing Manager from Remondis commented on the recent acquisition of Thiess Waste Services.
  • The Australian waste management market represents 26, 812 employees and over 2, 667 businesses in 2010!

Europe is noticeably present with French and German companies occupying three of the five leading positions on the Australian waste management market.
We have learnt a lot and would like to thank Christian and his team for such a great opportunity.
