This event welcoming a trade delegation of German companies specialising in innovative green technology.
A few highlights include:
- The waste management market is expected to grow from $7b to $11.5b by 2020. This represents 43m tonnes of waste expected to grow to 81m tonnes – an average growth rate of 4.5%!
- The concentration within the industry is becoming more important and the National Sales and Marketing Manager from Remondis commented on the recent acquisition of Thiess Waste Services.
- The Australian waste management market represents 26, 812 employees and over 2, 667 businesses in 2010!
Europe is noticeably present with French and German companies occupying three of the five leading positions on the Australian waste management market.
